Time Flies!
This exhibit was about the regulation of sleep cycles in fruit flies. Really. The left side of the exhibit displayed actual fruit flies, and the right side contained an activity concerning the construction of a sleep-regulating protein. Details in the slide shows below. This side of the display was devoted to the actual fruit flies.
The flies were kept in tubes under this red Plexiglas panel.
The panel could be raised to attend to the flies. In the red circle, you can the see the micro-camera that allowed viewing of the flies.

The right side of the display was devoted to an activity concerning the PTC molecule.
The object was to put the pucks in the right slot in the right order. Once the pucks were all in the correct slots, a video would play explaining the PTC molecule.
If a puck was put in the wrong slot, a warning light would be energized.
When the activity was over, the pucks would be automatically ejected from the slots. But the problem was that the pucks would land just below the corresponding slot, giving away the answer. Originally, the pucks were supposed to fall through a gap into the cabinet below, but someone decided to use it for storage instead. Yeah, well, there you go.
