My friend Emily produced a show for her graduate thesis. It was TV news stories in cross-stitch. The six pieces were displayed on hanging panels in a sort of arts-and-crafts shop, if I remember correctly.

We were allowed to use the columns as well. We used pegboard because it's reminiscent of cross-stich fabric and large cord to simulate a proportionately scale increased thread.
